Artists and creative professionals can register by coming by and completing the registration form. Renting material is only possible one day after enrollment.

Since 2023 an annual membership fee of 12 CHF per calendar-year is charged for the use of the Culture Office.

You can become a solidarity member "Soli Mitgliedschaft" from CHF 60, and be invited once a year to a Kulturbüro drinks reception.

Newly, cultural institutions can also register. Institutional membership costs 150 CHF and allows institutions to deposit 5 people for use and invoicing from 50 CHF.

Your contribution supports the continuation of the Kulturbüro and allows you to use the services offered. It does not make you a member of the association.

The entire offer of the Kulturbüro Bern is reserved for artists. Private use (weddings, birthdays, political or religious gatherings, etc), commercial use (company events, assignments from industry, advertising, etc.) or school projects (workshop, storage, project week) are not allowed.

Public and private schools can hire equipment from:

Reservations are binding and can only be made during opening hours by telephone or in person at the Kulturbüro. Provisional reservations or bookings via third parties will not be accepted.

The equipment must be collected by the renting party in person from the Kulturbüro.

Payment is in advance for first-time renters. A valid passport, ID or B or C Permit - plus driving licence when hiring a bus - must be shown when collecting the equipment. The equipment must be collected and returned by the renter in person.

For first-time renters, equipment can only be hired for a total price of CHF 50 per day. After that, there are no more restrictions.

1 week (7 days): 5 daily rentals

All prices are without guarantee

8–14 days before start of rental: 25% of rental price
5–7 days before start of rental: 50% of rental price
0–4 days before start of rental: 100% of rental price

The rental equipment can be hired for 1 to a maximum of 21 days (exceptions possible on request).

The calender view will tell you which equipment is available and when.

The Kulturbüro accepts no liability for damage occurring during use of the hired items; The renters are fully liable for that. Renters are also liable for the new value of defective or missing equipment or parts, cables for example. We reserve the right to pass on to the previous renter any additional expenses incurred by the next renter as a result of any late return of the rented equipment.

For photo and video equipment, a short-term insurance policy can be taken out with lings.ch on a daily basis. A credit of CHF 5 is available per tenant under the code word «KulturBüro».
