Audio course part 2: Advanced Basics

Audio KB Website

This 3-hour course builds on the basics of the theory workshop, but can also be booked separately. We try out the rental devices in the Culture Office, attach different microphones to cameras and the audio recorder, try out internal and external microphones and compare audio samples.

What to do with the perche, boompole and blimp? We control, prevent peaks and clarify recording formats for Zoom and Sound devices. We take a close look at one channel on the mixer and attach a stereo signal by panning to two mono channels. We also take a quick look at different types of audio software and try out the main editors, such as EQs, limiter and de-esser.

Both audio workshops are designed mainly for beginners. If you don't like the sound quality of your mobile phone or of the internal camera microphone, or if you aren't sure why the same TRS jack plug can be stereo/asymmetrical but also mono/symmetrical, or if you would like to attach a large diagram microphone via an audio interface to your computer, then get in touch!

The courses can be booked individually. You can bring your own equipment with you.
