The entire offer of the Kulturbüro is only for creative artists. Our equipment is available exclusively for the production or documentation of self-initiated music, art or design projects aimed at publication (performance, exhibition, web, screening, etc.).

Use by institutional, private (weddings, birthdays, religious gatherings, etc.), commercial (company events, assignments from industry, advertising etc.) or school projects (workshop, camp, projects) is not eligible.

We cannot make any exceptions as we wish to treat everyone equally.

Also excluded is the use of our entire range of services for projects that discriminate against people on the basis of their ethnic, social or cultural origin, their religious beliefs, their physical and psychological characteristics or their social and biological gender, or that justify such discrimination.

Registration is mandatory for the use of our rental offering. This is either in person onsite or by telephone.

The hardware onsite can be used without registration. Some items of equipment can be reserved. An initiation is required before using certain items of equipment.

Reservations for rental devices, certain items of equipment that can be used onsite and courses are accepted during opening hours by telephone or in person at the Kulturbüro. Provisional reservations are not possible. Reservations by mail are not accepted either.

The calendar view for the rental equipment will tell you when items are available.

The rental prices are by the day.

• We count two days' rent at the weekend (Sat–Tues).
• We charge five days' rental for one week (seven days).

All prices are without guarantee.

The items of equipment may be hired for 1–14 days.

Presentation equipment can be hired for longer on request.

• Valid ID has to be shown the first time you hire (Swiss ID, passport or residence permit). If you do not have that, someone with Swiss ID, passport or residence permit must act as guarantor.
• The driver needs to present a driving licence the first time they hire the bus.
• The equipment must be collected by the renter in person.
• For the first rental, items of equipment worth up to 60 CHF/day maximum can be hired. After that, there are no more restrictions.

• Tue–Sat: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm (Bus: 10:30 am)

late return

A late return counts as an extra day and the rent goes up to three times the price for every overdue day.

Rental equipment

• up to 15 days before inception of rental: free of charge
• 8–14 days before inception of rental: 25% of rental price
• 5–7 days before inception of rental: 50% of rental price
• 0–4 days before inception of rental: 100% of rental price

Please inform us by telephone if you need to cancel, then we may be able to rent the equipment out to someone else and save you the cancellation cost.

Courses

• up to 7 days before course start: free of charge
  
• 0–6 days before start of course: 100% of course costs

The Kulturbüro Zürich accepts no liability for damage arising from the use of hired items; full liability lies with the renter. Renters are also liable for the new value of defective or missing equipment or parts, cables for example. We reserve the right to pass on extra charges incurred by the following renter through the late return of hired equipment to the previous renter in full.
