The project «Support Access» advocates for the equal participation of people with disabilities and chronic illnesses in the arts, culture, and working life. As a point of contact for cultural workers, institutions, and collectives, we develop programs that aim to embed accessibility as a fundamental part of cultural spaces.
Accessibility in Arts and Culture
When accessibility is considered from the very beginning, it leads to more diverse artistic processes, stronger collaborations, and a more vibrant cultural landscape.
We offer both technical equipment and support tools for rent to help make events and projects more accessible. In addition, we organize formats that explore questions around accessibility, ableism, inclusive design, and discrimination-aware cultural work – hands-on and through open exchange.
Technical equipment
We provide a range of technical equipment and support tools to help make events and projects more accessible. Our inventory is continuously expanding – we welcome feedback, suggestions, and information about additional needs.
Currently our available equipment includes:
- for audio description, live translation, or exhibition tours: Tourguide-Kit Sennheiser
- for wireless sound transmission for people using hearing aids: Induction loops
- for displaying subtitles or captions: Mobile projection screen
- audio recorder Zoom H2e (with audio description of menu navigation)
- for hybrid workshops and presentations: Meeting Owl Pro
- for soft seating options: Beanbags
Workshops
We offer a variety of workshop formats – both in person and online. These are tailored to different target groups, including artists, employers, venues, and collectives.
Our workshops cover a wide range of topics, from raising awareness about accessibility and anti-ableism to inclusive design and practical approaches for reducing discrimination in cultural work.
Some formats are specifically designed for artists with disabilities who want to connect, exchange ideas, and address their concerns and struggles within a cultural field often shaped by discrimination.
You can find current workshops here.
Exchange formats
We offer networking events and exchange formats where projects are presented that incorporate accessibility and inclusion into their processes in thoughtful and creative ways.
These gatherings provide space for mutual inspiration, open questions, and personal experiences. Participants are welcome to share their own projects, ideas, or challenges related to accessibility – in a relaxed atmosphere of exchange and shared learning.
You can find upcoming networking events here.
