Smartphone Videoproduction

A6c28ccf ffa4 4f61 b246 7a37c08ca20e

Your Smartphone is a Mini Film Studio – turn it on, start filming, get creative!

But what does it take to make a video that truly works? In this workshop, you’ll learn the essential basics of video production:

  1. Smartphone vs. camera: When to use what
  2. Storytelling: How to tell a compelling story
  3. Visual composition: Creating the perfect shot
  4. Lighting made simple
  5. Sound: How to get great audio
  6. Practical tips for better smartphone filming
  7. Video editing with the CapCut app

During the workshop, you’ll develop your own video idea, shoot and edit it directly on your smartphone. The goal is to leave with a finished video by the end of the day.

What to bring:
  • A smartphone (recent model, iOS or Android) with at least 2 GB of free storage and a full battery
  • Charger and, if possible, a power bank
  • Headphones
  • The free app “YouCut” installed (free version is enough; recommended: deactivate all data-agreements when opening the app)
  • Optionally, you can bring your own video idea to work on during the workshop, or use existing footage you’ve already filmed.
