Sound modules to solder yourself! Come along and be enchanted by exquisite sounds and the sweet smell of solder.
FlipFloaters are small synthesizers and effects units that you can use for your live performances or your own sound setup. At the Kulturbüro Basel, we solder effects units and instruments together. From simple distortion pedals to experimental sound machines – you decide what you want to create.
You can choose from:
- DroneSlider Synth – creates beautiful drones, individually tunable
- UglyFace Distortion – chops up the sound
- FlipFloater Delay – a digital delay with circuit bending drones and lo-fi character- Filter
- Rough-sounding high/low pass - Filter
- Resonator – with 2 bands and 2 LFOs, brings the sound to life
All devices are based on the musical and electronic experience of Claude Winterberg, alias FlipFloater. They are designed to be creative, useful and directly playable for musicians – at the end, you take your self-built effects device home with you. No prior knowledge is necessary – we show you step by step how it works.
