Workshop: «Language and Disability»

03.10.2026
14:15–17:30

How do I communicate in relation to disability?

Is it even okay to say “disability”? Who am I referring to, and how can I phrase this?

This practical workshop is aimed at staff members of cultural institutions and the administration, as well as collectives and independent cultural workers. It is particularly relevant for anyone who regularly communicates programs, calls for submissions, and events to as diverse an audience as possible, as well as for those who work with or would like to work with artists with disabilities. Language related to and about accessibility will also be a topic of discussion.

The hybrid workshop is divided into three sections and covers terminology and its application, as well as practical exercises in phrasing. Participants will learn about resources on the topic and have the opportunity to ask questions.
