Input on Social Security for Cultural Workers

02.11.2026
17:00–19:00

How do I become self-employed as a cultural professional? Can I choose this freely, or is it determined by my client? How can I build up retirement savings as a cultural professional? And what actually happens if I’m unable to work for an extended period due to illness or an accident?

Switzerland’s social security system isn’t tailored to working conditions in the cultural sector, which is why it requires a lot of expertise and effort—Etrit Hasler from Suisseculture Sociale will give a presentation on the topic, designed to spark a discussion of specific questions. If you already know in advance what you’d like to learn more about, please send us your questions to bern@kulturbuero.ch by October 25, 2026, at the latest.
